Winter is here!
- The studio accepts new students throughout the semester, and still has a few openings Monday-Wednesday.
- The studio offers a complimentary trial lesson and continuing observation
of experienced students, on request.
For those of you who are new to the studio, welcome to the website! Please look
around, read my Teaching Biography and Parent Recommendations, and feel free
to ask lots of questions. I look forward to your meeting and joining the club of
veteran students and parents who support,
encourage and enjoy each other's work!
The website has been updated for the Fall 2009 and Winter 2010 semesters, including the entire academic calendar and Fall Group Class flyer. Group dates for Winter have been set, as noted on the academic calendar.

- Fall Semester: begins on Tuesday, September 8, 2009
- Winter Semester: begins on Monday, January 25, 2010
- no break between semesters.
- Holiday break: Thursday, December 24, 2009 - Sunday, January 3, 2010
- Winter break: Monday, February 22 - Sunday, February 28, 2010
- Studio Closed: Monday, March 29 - Sunday, April 4, 2010
- Spring break: Monday, April 5 - Sunday, April 11, 2010
January Student Informance: Sunday, January 24, 2010 (4pm, St. Andrew's Choir Room)
Dress Rehearsal: the previous Saturday morning, January 23 (at St. Andrew's)
This is an informal recital to prepare for Solo & Ensemble Festivals, but is open to anyone
ready to perform.
Spring Student Recital: Sunday, June 13, 2010 (11:15 am, Kerrytown Concert House)
Dress Rehearsal: the previous Wednesday, June 9 (location to be announced)
Please plan to sign up for a Wednesday rehearsal slot between 3pm-7pm.
These rehearsals take the place of all lessons the week preceeding the recital.
Cello Group Classes
Seven weeks of Cello Group classes for technique, repertoire and note reading/chamber music are always great fun,
and will be offered again this fall and winter, held on Saturday mornings, October 3rd - November 14th and January 9th to February 27th.
I’ve arranged to use a large space at St. Andrew's Church on Division. The Fall Group Class Schedule is now available.
Group Classes are open to students from other teachers' studios (by permission).

It seems I’m always working on updating the studio website, but it has proved a valuable resource for
many. If you haven’t explored it, please do! It’s simple, but has lots of information.
Let me know if you have anything more to share in this space...instruments for sale, a good article about music or
musicians, the cello, something you've learned, upcoming performances, etc.
